Rules of Play

1. FIELDS: Ixtapa-Zihuatenajo, Mexico( 6 outdoor grass fields)

2. LENGTH OF GAMES:
A.) 6 Aside games will be 40 running minutes (20 minute halves) Halftime will be 10 minutes.
B.) Championship and playoff games on April 26th will implement a tie breaking procedure. A Five (5) minute extra time period will be used for games that end in ties. If a tie still exists, then the game will go to SHOOT-OUTS from the penalty spot.

3. SCORING: - TIE BREAKERS: Teams earn points based upon the results of the preliminary matches played on Thursday and Friday. Points will be awarded as follows:

3 Points Win
1 Point Tie
0 Points Loss

When teams finish with equal points, standings will be decided by either

a. Direct encounter
b. Fewest goals against

c. Most goals for (Maximum of 5 goals per game)
d. Most total wins

e. If a tie still exists after steps 1 thru 4, FIFA penalty kicks will be taken

4. GAME START: Teams must report to the field a minimum of 30 minutes prior to scheduled start time.
A) Minimum number of players: a team must have 4 players for 6 aside to start the game.
B) No equipment shall be worn that is dangerous to another player as determined by the referee.
C) Shin guards covered by socks are mandatory.
D) No jewelry is permitted.

5. EJECTIONS: Players ejected (red card) from a game will automatically be suspended from the team's next game. Each red card ejection will result in one point deduction from the team's tournament points. Fighting by players will result in ejection from the tournament.

6. UNLIMITED SUBSTITUTIONS:

7. THE GOALIE: Goalie cannot pickup a ball that has been kicked back to him by a team member during play. A player may head or chest the ball back to the goalie (PASS BACK MUST BE FROM ABOVE THE WAIST). If a kicked ball is passed back to the goalie then the referee will award a penalty kick to the opposing team.

8. KICK-INS: WILL BE USED....ALL KICKS ARE INDIRECT for 6 aside soccer.

9. ROSTER SIZE: Teams will consist of no more than 12 players for 6 Aside soccer.

10. MEDICAL RELEASES: All players must have signed medical releases at team check in and throughout the tournament.

11. PROTESTS: No protests will be allowed during the tournament. The decision of the Referee, Field Marshall, and the Tournament Director shall be final. All games will be considered final.

12. CONDUCT: All coaches have total responsibility for the conduct of their players, bench, friends, and spectators at all time.

13. DISPUTES: The Tournament Director will handle all disputes that are non-referee decisions and make final all decisions.
